In The Loop - a cryptic marriage proposal (15x15)

Boy howdy, another full-size grid!? Is this even a mini blog anymore??

So this puzzle was commissioned for a marriage proposal! The set-up: since the proposer often does market research surveys, she told her beau, "hey, i got this email, they're looking for crossword fans to beta test a new app, i suck at cryptics, but seems right up your alley." The entries aren't specific to him, but there's a hidden message at the end. While reading the message, she knelt behind him, holding the ring. Spoiler alert: he said yes!

This was all back in December, so I've cleaned up the puzzle a bit, and changed a couple clues entirely (apologies for 12A). Oh, and eagle-brained solvers will recognize one clue that I reused in a blog puzzle several weeks ago. Apologies for the repeat, but it was just too good!

NB: the proposee mostly does UK cryptics. I tried to keep things transatlantic, but some minor UK conventions seeped over the pond. Everything should still be gettable by American solvers, though it might elicit a grumble or two.

Oh also: the happy couple is from Toronto, so the puzzle has a number of Canadian references. The ones that non-Canucks might not know: the Senators are a hockey team in Ottawa, the Shooting Stars are a basketball team in Toronto, and "Cowtown" is a nickname for Calgary.

Thank you to the keen mind of testsolver Mallimack. That's all folks — enjoy!
